GISH Hall of Fame 2021

Welcome to the world’s weirdest, wildest, most beautiful and strange images and videos from the
Greatest International Scavenger Hunt!

The submissions below were selected by HARSHers, Misha and the Judges to be the best of the best of GISH 2021. Enjoy exploring the weirdness! Browse through them, or click on an item number to see the top submissions.

Item 169: Speaking of some things you still can’t tell people, there’s something you still haven’t been able to tell yourself. Write a poem of self-acceptance, looking directly at an issue you’ve long kept buried or ignored. Use the poem as an opportunity to forgive yourself and accept your all-too-human flaws. (This is still a shameless plug.)

Team VeniVidiGishi

Comment: It has been hard for me to look in the mirror the last few years, especially because I am a major advocate to *OTHER* people to love yourself no matter what, etc. It's hard to admit that I buy in to the idea that I am no longer a woman, that my value is diminished, and that I am obsolete as I age. - Briar J.

Item 82: (UP TO 30 SECONDS VERTICAL) July 31st is the final day of the Olympics. No, not those Olympics; The Betta Olympics, where fish around the world show off their best tricks on Instagram. But why should only betta fish get all the fun? Let’s see your pet’s best tricks in the GISH Pet Olympics-winner takes the gold(fish). Post your entry to social media and tag #GISH and #PetOlympics2021. — inspired by Carah

Item 179: KIDS MENU. Put non-toxic liquid soap on your lips like lipstick and blow the biggest bubble you can. (Don’t get it in your mouth. Yuck!)

Team Tea_and_Pancakes

Comment: The kids and I had entirely too much fun trying to see who could make the biggest bubble!

Item 135: Create a prototype for a human-powered car. It must be able to get up to 10 mph, seat 2 people and cannot be a bicycle/foot pedaled or be made from any bicycle parts or components. Bonus points if you build the actual car.

Team Schnitzeljaeger

Comment: Oh my gosh, I have never really built anything functional, certainly nothing with moving parts, so this was the ultimate learning experience! The best part was my landlord lent me tools and wants to keep it and decorate it for Christmas! ??

Item 131: (LENGTH DEPENDS ON THE NUMBER OF LANGUAGES) There are approximately 6,500 languages in the world, and we won’t be satisfied until we’ve learned to say “We Create, therefore we live.” in all of them. Record as many native speakers of non-English languages as possible stating this phrase. Submit your video with a total count of the number of languages in the comments. Bonus points for the team that captures the most languages.
