GISH Hall of Fame 2018

Welcome to the world’s weirdest, wildest, most beautiful and strange images and videos from the
Greatest International Scavenger Hunt!

The submissions below were selected by HARSHers, Misha and the Judges to be the best of the best of GISH 2018. Enjoy exploring the weirdness! Browse through them, or click on an item number to see the top submissions.

Item 34: You’ve heard of finger painting, but nose painting is the latest rage in the art world. Using non-toxic paints, “nose-paint” a lovely realistic (not abstract!) painting on a large piece of paper or canvas. Submit a photo of the finished product next to your unwashed face. Bonus points if it’s a plein air painting you make in a busy public location.

Comment: I painted a portrait of my dog! Now I finally have one to cherish forever, just like her!!! Thanks for making me do this. SanSailorOcala

Item 150: Kiss someone (consensually, of course) in front of the Gänseliesel in Göttingen.

Team K9sLoveBarkingCatsLovesSchadenfreunde

Item 7: Side-by-side portraits of you as you see yourself and you as the person who loves you best sees you (the second portrait must be made by your loved one, and afterward, you do this for them, too - though you don’t have to submit that).

Team JumpingImpalasLovesSpaceLeonKennedys

Comment: First painting was my self portrait, and the second was done by my best friend Charlotte. I was honored to see her view of me...

Item 206: Relax & unwind! A person in a lounge chair, sipping a drink out of a coconut, at the central point of Spiral Jetty.

Team TeamCatstiel

Comment: I have lived in Utah my whole life and only been to the Great Salt Lake once, never to Promontory Point (Golden Spike National Park), or to the Spiral Jetty. Now I did these all in one day :)

Item 64: On Twitter, @EugeneLeeYang submitted a proposal to have a gathering of people in blue jeans in Eugene, OR. While brilliant, we think this effort should be more inclusive. Gather as many people as you can named after a city or town in the city or town named for them with an obvious tie-in. (Franciscan monks in San Francisco, Angels in Los Angeles, and so on.) Bonus points to the biggest gathering and most awesome tie-in.

Team MalevolentHedgehogs

Comment: Athenians in Athens, Georgia. We posed with the statue of Athena centered in front of the famous Classic Center.
