Comment: A spoonful of sugar takes you to the Upside Down. Kasey (aka Eleven) having high tea with Mary Poppins (me) and the Demogorgon on the ceiling. This item was a blast to put together and such a labor of love. It also gave me an excuse to go to TeaHaus for yummy Strawberry Cream tea and my favorite lunch, three finger sandwiches, a scone with all the toppings, and a French macaron. I watched several really cool tutorials to get ideas for how to make the demogorgon head, though most of them were beyond my budget, time, and skills. I shaped the “petals” from wire hangers, covered them with masking tape, then painted them. I cut tons of teeth from white paper, then attached them using hot glue, making it messy and stringy to look like saliva as some of the tutorials suggested. I made the arms and hands from painted paper. Kasey had the inspired suggestion for the demogorgon to be emerging from the wall to join the tea party, chair and cup in hand, to save time on constructing the entire body and because it looked awesome. Of course no Upside Down tea would be complete without the letters (cut out from black paper) and Christmas lights on the wall. Kasey supplied a cute old tea pot, and the rest of the table setting and my costume were just things I found around the house. - Marie Kaniecki https://twitter.com/MarieElizaK/status/1157725899674066944?s=20
