Item 88: IMAGE. Make a mosaic Elopus, 2 meters in diameter, made entirely of natural objects (i.e. no plastic, human-made materials, only leaves, rocks, dirt, flowers, wood, etc).

Comment: We LOVED making this Elopus! We used leaves, sand, gravel, black and brown bark, white rocks and kids :)

Comment: We had an awesome time collecting the flowers for this mosaic (mostly invasives we needed to clear from our prairie anyway)… we decided it would be called "Elopus dreams of the Tournament of Roses Parade." Slam dunk summer afternoon with my girls.

Comment: No worries, we are from Iowa. No shortage of corn here. -Katelynn

Team buzzed4lifeLovesImmaculateKidneys

Comment: Cats aren't really that handy for making mosaics, ours spent most of its time kicking stones and rolling in leaves. Time lapse of us making the mosaic at http://youtu.be/enHT4M27Vms - Liam Self

Team TeamFreeWilly

Comment: I made this with a group of German girls (I don't speak German), and by the end we had created an inter-language dialect that consisted exclusively of words for different parts of the anatomy of an Elopus.

Team TotesAmazeBallsLovesWeepingAngels

Comment: Elopus is made from Red Delicious Apples with a Lodi Apple for the eye and the ear detail is Skaha Apricots.

Comment: As the Fleadh Cheoil is about to start in our town (Sligo, Ireland), people thought this was an art installation in conjunction with the Fleadh. They soon knew otherwise when I saluted and shouted "HAIL ELOPUS!"

Team AgniKaiLovesPeriwinkleWombats

Comment: I am now the top elopus fashion designer! You might say I am the only one in this field, and while that may be true it doesn't mean this isn't amazing! Note the bold lipstick. -Cathryne

Comment: I normally hate getting dirty and sandy, but for GISHWHES, all things are possible. Thanks, GISHWHES! -Jiu Jiu
